If you register on X76, we collect and store basic information that you consent to give access to when performing social login (i.e. signing up using Google, Discord or GitHub); such information includes:

email address (used to identify you and send notifications about search updates and chat messages)
display name (used as your account’s display name and can be changed by you)
avatar URL (used as your account’s avatar and can be changed by you)

We also collect and store operational information that you provide during the use of the platform and that is necessary to provide services of X76 to you and other users:

the content of your search prompts;
optional profile description;
optional location sharing when local search is used;
chat messages with other users.

All of the above-mentioned items are required for the platform to function. Information is removed from our platforms upon deletion of your account. In other words, we store the information only as long as it’s necessary for the platform to function properly.

2.2 Information Automatically Collected

Automatically collected data includes information that we collect for the purpose of analytics so that we can optimize our services for the users:

Basic device information such as approximate IP location, browser type, and device type; this data is anonymized and cannot be used for tracking
Usage data: access times, features used, pages visited

We also use session cookies to allow users to have a smooth authentication experience by not requiring a log in each time they visit a page. See cookies policy for more details.

3. Legal Basis and Data Processing

We process your data based on:

Your consent (when you sign up and provide information)
Necessity to provide our service to you
Our legitimate interest to improve the service

We may use some of your data (the content of your search prompts and the optional profile description) for the API requests made to the third-party API providers such as the OpenAI API when processing your request.

We may also share your data with law enforcement when it’s legally required.

We do not sell any of your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including:

Encryptioon of data in transit
Access controls and authentication mechanisms
Regular security assessments and improvements

Data is stored securely on servers located in the European Union and the United States.

You can exercise most of the below-mentioned rights by using the UI of the app.

I.e. you can see most of the data that we collect and you can remove all of the personal data by deleting an account.

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data (excluding the e-mail address that cannot be changed upon the registration as of now)
Delete your account and associated data, including personal data stored on our servers
Withdraw your consent at any time (by e.g. deleting your account or the appropriate data from our servers)

7. International Data Transfers

We may transfer data internationally. When we do, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place and comply with applicable data protection laws.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will take steps to delete the information.

Currently, we only use essential session cookies that are generated once you sign up or sign in. These cookies are updated each time you log in again. They also expire within 10 or can be removed by logging out or deleting an account. The session cookies only serve authentication purposes.

Our analytics engines do not use any cookies.
